Duolin Inhaler combines two bronchodilators—levosalbutamol (a selective beta2 adrenergic agonist) and ipratropium bromide (an anticholinergic agent)—to provide rapid relief from bronchospasm in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Levosalbutamol quickly relaxes the smooth muscles of the airways, while ipratropium blocks muscarinic receptors to decrease mucus production and prevent airway constriction. This synergistic combination offers superior bronchodilation compared with either medication alone, improving airflow and reducing shortness of breath within minutes.

To use the Duolin Inhaler, shake the canister well and remove the mouthpiece cap. Exhale fully, place your lips around the mouthpiece and press down on the canister as you begin to inhale slowly and deeply. Hold your breath for 10 seconds or as long as comfortable, then exhale slowly. If a second puff is prescribed, wait about one minute between doses. Rinse your mouth with water after use to reduce the risk of dry mouth or throat irritation. Clean the mouthpiece regularly and check the dose counter to ensure the inhaler has not run out.

Common side effects may include dry mouth, throat irritation, hoarseness, tremors, headache, palpitations and mild nervousness. Rarely, paradoxical bronchospasm may occur; if breathing worsens, seek medical attention immediately. Patients with glaucoma, enlarged prostate or urinary retention should use caution, as anticholinergics can exacerbate these conditions. Duolin provides quick relief but is not intended as a substitute for long-term maintenance inhalers or anti-inflammatory medications. Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions regarding dosage frequency, and always carry your rescue inhaler for acute symptoms. With proper technique, Duolin Inhaler can offer fast and effective relief during asthma attacks or COPD flare-ups.
